A Competition for Young Women Who Want to Venture Off the Beaten Track
Are you a woman looking for a career with lots of job openings, a good salary and great working conditions? Why not choose vocational or technical training programs that lead to traditionally male-dominated careers?
Few young women dare to explore new paths. However, trades and occupations usually chosen by men offer an array of socioeconomic benefits, and look at all the choices! Woodworking, welding, electronics and industrial drafting all lead to careers in male-dominated fields. Nearly 200 vocational and technical training programs leading to non-traditional occupations for women are offered by Québec school boards and CEGEPs.
Take Your Place!
Once you have enrolled in one of these fields, you may enter the Chapeau, les filles! contest. Celebrating young women who choose to go a different route, this contest recognizes their place in traditionally male-dominated training programs.
The competition provides you with an opportunity to forge ties with other students and to be rewarded for your efforts. In addition, you could win one of many cash prizes from $500 to $5000 or career development trips to France or elsewhere outside Québec.
